Consensus not possible on T: Seethakka

Hyderabad, July 28: Telugu Desam Party MLA from Telangana Seethakka on Wednesday opined that it was very difficult for various parties to arrive at a unanimous opinion on the controversial separate statehood issue.

Talking to media persons at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party Office, Ms Seethakka wondered how Union Home Minister P Chidambaram was hoping that a consensus would be reached among all the leaders who were for or against the separate statehood demand.

She said that consensus on the issue cannot be achieved among parties and termed Mr Chidambaram’s comments as `unfortunate’ and `unwarranted.’

Ms Seethakka added that the Union Home Minister’s seeking a unanimous opinion on Telangana issue was not suitable to his official position.

She also advised Mr Chidambaram to speak like a ‘matured politician’ and find a solution to the statehood issue soon.
