Conjunctivitis virus stronger this year

Hyderabad, October 14: Virus attacks begin with the change in the weather. If you are affected with sore eyes or pink eye syndrome then you will have to wait a little longer to recover as the doctors have warned of a stronger and harmful attack of conjunctivitis this year.

Meanwhile ophthalmologists are noting a difference in the ailment as compared to the previous years. This time there’s a stronger, longer ‘strain’ which may prolong treatment.

According to the doctors of the Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, about 40 per cent of the patients visiting the hospital are found to be affected by conjunctivitis. It can take a fortnight or even more to heal completely as pollution too aggravates the disease. They further said.
