Cong’s veiled attack on Pawar on price rise issue

New Delhi, January 08: In a veiled attack on Agriculture minister Sharad Pawar on the issue of price rise, Congress today said the job of the government and the ministers is not only to point out problems but also to find solutions.

“The job of a government and the ministers is not only to point out problems but to find solutions and give relief to the common man,” party General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi told reporters here.

While Dwivedi spoke in general terms, it came close on the heels of the recent statement of Pawar that the prices of sugar could rise further soon.

To a volley of questions on the issue of price rise on a day when sugar prices touched Rs 50 a kg in retail market, Dwivedi also underlined the need for increasing the production of pulses and sugarcane.
