Lucknow: Just hours after Congress social media chief Divya Spandana was booked under sedition charges for insulting Modi and calling him a ‘chor’, she is yet again slapped with another complaint against her.
“To the folks who filed the FIR – #PMChorHai,” Spandana had tweeted for which she was booked under sedition charges and a case was registered against her on Tuesday at Gomtinagar Police Station.
Thank you guys for extending your support and for those who didn’t like the tweet, well, what can I say? Will keep it ‘classy’ next time 😊
India should do away with the sedition law, it’s archaic and misused.

Lawyer Syed Rizwan Ahmed filed an FIR against her in Lucknow where she was booked for sedition under Section 124-A of the IPC and Section 67 of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act for using defaming PM and calling him a ‘thief’.
“An FIR was registered against Divya Spandana under the Information Technology Act and relevant sections of the IPC,” confirmed Gomtinagar SHO DP Tiwari.
In the complaint, Ahmed alleged that the post had the “potential to instigate hatred against Modi”, the official added.
