Dehradun, August 30: Around 100 Congress workers of Vikasnagar joined Bharatiya Janta Party here yesterday in presence of Chief Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’.
Speaking at a function to welcome the new entrants, Dr Nishank said that now Muslims were joining BJP in large numbers. He alleged that Congress has been using Muslim community as a vote bank. Congress has never made any efforts for the welfare of the community.
Referring to upcoming by-election of Vikasnagar Assembly Constituency on September 10, the Chief Minister said that the voters would vote for BJP for overall development of Vikasnagar.
