Congress won’t come back in 2019, Harish tells Ponnam

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today made it clear to Congress former MP Ponnam Prabhakar that Congress would not come back to power in the State in the next elections under any circumstances.

Ponnam Prabhakar met the Minister in the Assembly lobbies on Tuesday and urged him to release SRSP water to flood canal. The Minister said the flood canal and Sadarmat projects were not under SRSP project purview and made it clear that the government will examine the request only when the Congress gave a written undertaking that it would not stage agitations when the water decreases in the end.

An annoyed Ponnam asked whether anybody could do like that? It is learnt that the Minister assured Ponnam that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would show a permanent solution to the problem. Later, Ponnam said the Congress would come back to power in 2019 elections. To this, Harish retorted that will be impossible. (NSS)
