Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday claimed that the Congress party would win the by-elections for Warangal Lok Sabha seat by a margin of over one lakh votes.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party has hired an agency to study the mood of voters in Warangal Lok Sabha seat. He said based on a sample of 1,000 voters in each of the seven Assembly segments in Warangal Lok Sabha seat, the agency has predicted victory for Congress candidate by a margin of more than one lakh votes. He said that the Rythu Bharosa Yatra had a very positive impact on the farming community and people were upset over the suspension of entire opposition from the last Assembly session.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress party would capatalise on the voters’ mood to win the Warangal by-polls. He said people were also happy over the way AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi raised farmers issue in Parliament and at the national level.
He informed that the Congress would announce its candidate on Saturday. He said that the Congress High Command would select the candidate among eight aspirants. (INN)
