Congress will return to power in next elections: Komatireddy

Nalgonda Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has reiterated that he had no intentions to join the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

Speaking to the media after meeting Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao here on Saturday, Komatireddy clarified that he met the Chief Minister to make seek his intervention in resolving issues related to his constituency. He said that KCR has assured that Udaya Samudram Lift Irrigation project would be completed soon. Further, he informed that KCR spoke to Irrigation and Energy Ministers directing them to hasten up pending works in Nalgonda constituency. He said drinking water needs should be addressed on priority.

Komatireddy, who was accompanied with his brother and former MP Rajagopal Reddy, expressed confidence that the Congress party would return to power in Telangana State. He said people have voted for TRS as it was related to agitation. Since people know that it was Sonia Gandhi who granted statehood for Telangana, they will certainly vote for Congress next time. He said that the Congress was not worried about leaders who are leaving the party as hundreds other leaders would emerge as their replacement. (INN)
