Congress Will Give Even 200 Seats To BCs If They Have Winning Chances: Thulasi

PCC official spokesperson Dr N Thulasi Reddy has said that the Congress high command would allot 150 seats, if necessary, even 200 seats in the Assembly to the BCs if they have winning chances.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday, Thulasi Reddy said that TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu, who announced the BC Declaration, should first give his TDP Chief post or Leader of Opposition post to the BCs.

Asked whether the Congress would give tickets only to the “winning” BC candidates but not out of love towards them, Thulasi Reddy cross-questioned media persons whether other parties were giving tickets to losing candidates.

Asked whether AICC Chief and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi would give up one of her posts for the BCs, Thulasi Reddy shot back saying that she had already sacrificed Prime Minister’s post in favour of a minority candidate Dr Manmohan Singh.

Condemning disqualified MLC Konda Murali’s remarks that the Congress party was suppressing the BCs, Thulasi Reddy said that the Congress party was giving top priority to the BCs than any other political party for the last 10 years. (NSS)
