Congress Whip in the Legislative Council Y Shivarama Reddy ridiculed the claim of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu wherein he promised to fulfill all the promises that he has been making within six months after coming to power.
Addressing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party office here on Friday, Shivarama Reddy alleged that Naidu has lost mental balance and should be referred to a specialist. He said while in power for nine years, the TDP chief failed to generate sufficient revenues to implement welfare schemes. He even borrowed loans to pay salaries to the government employees. Alleging that Naidu has resorted to large scale corruption, he said that the TDP chief has been surviving by securing stay orders on the enquiries against his corrupt activities.
Shivarama Reddy said that while Naidu himself has been accusing the Congress Government of emptying the State’s exchequer, he sought to know from where Naidu would bring funds to fulfill his promises if he returns to power. He also condemned Naidu for prompting people not to pay their electricity bills. He said that the TDP president has been setting a bad precedent.
The Congress leader also alleged that the TDP has been converted into “Telangana Development Party” and asked the TDP leaders from the Seemandhra regions to save the party.
Describing N Kiran Kumar Reddy as the successful Chief Minister, Shivarama Reddy asked Chandrababu Naidu to introspect himself before leveling against the Chief Minister and Congress government. (INN)
