Congress trying to divert attention from Vadra issue, says BJP

With several papers of the file pertaining to deals between Robert Vadra and DLF missing, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday alleged that the Congress was trying to divert people’s attention from the issue.

“Everybody knows that the loot of land was openly invited in Haryana. Now at the time of investigation, the Congress is trying to divert the attention through press conference,” said BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain .

Another BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli echoing similar sentiments said that Vadra himself never spoke on this issue.

“From day one, senior most Congress leaders are out to defend Vadra but he never spoke on the issue,” said Kohli.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had earlier on Friday said that the state government has the duplicate copy of the file pertaining to Vadra-DLF deals and may trace the missing papers from there.

“The state government has a duplicate file and shall trace the missing papers from there. Those found guilty of stealing the papers would not be spared,” he told the media in the national capital yesterday after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to reports, some pages from the official files pertaining to the controversial DLF- Robert Vadra deal have gone missing.

Senior IAS officer Ashok Khemka has sent a letter to Haryana Chief Secretary P.K. Gupta and demanded registration of a criminal case against three senior IAS officers who were posted in the Chief Minister’s Office during former chief minister Bhupender Singh Hooda’s regime.

Khemka had earlier alleged that he was being persecuted for challenging the land deals involving Vadra. (ANI)
