Congress-TRS merger talks: Kesava Rao apologizes for Delhi visit

(Siasat News) There are clear indications that TRS will not merge with Congress Party. There are also indications that there will not be any seat sharing arrangements with the Congress. General Secretary of Congress, Mr. Digvijay Singh and Mr. Jairam Ramesh contacted TRS leadership and invited them to visit Delhi to finalize the talks. Dr. K. Kesava Rao apologized to visit New Delhi. In this manner TRS maintained its pressure against any pre-poll understanding with Congress.

Congress adopted a new strategy to convince TRS to come to talks by announcing that if Congress assumes power in the state the first cm of Telangana will be from among Daliths. It may be noted that TRS President, Mr. K. Chandrasekhar Rao made announcements more than once that a dalith will lead Telangana but after passing Telangana bill in the Parliament, he is keeping quite. It is presumed that Mr. KCR himself wants to become CM to fulfill the promise made by him earlier. It is presumed that in order to fulfill all the promises, a strong CM is essential.

On reviewing the attitude of Mr. K.Chandrasekhar Rao, Congress is playing Dalith card to attract weaker sections to support it in the next elections. It may be noted that the population of S.C., S.T., is more than compare to other groups. It is understood that TRS has put a condition to the Congress that it will support it if the post of CM is in favour of TRS.
