Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the Congress party would raise the issue of farmers in the forthcoming session of State Legislative Assembly.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday, Bhatti said that the State Government has completely failed to address the problems being faced by the farmers in the State. He said due to non-implementation of crop loan waiver promise in full, the farmers were unable to get fresh loans from banks. He said lakhs of farmers were forced to take loans from private financiers on huge interest rates. He said that the farmers would be taking nearly Rs. 65,000 crore loans from the private parties in the next five years.
Bhatti said that the Congress party would demand detailed discussion on the farmers issue in the House. If the government rejects its demand, then the Congress MLAs would stall the proceedings. (INN)
