Hyderabad, January 04: Congress MPs from Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh are likely to meet the party’s senior leaders, including Pranab Mukherjee in Delhi tomorrow to discuss the Telangana issue.
The MPs would interact with the leaders on the Srikrishna Committee report and other aspects of the Telangana issue, party sources said here today.
The five-member committee submitted its report on December 30 and the government has convened a meeting of eight recognised political parties in Andhra Pradesh on January six to share the report.
TRS and BJP have, however, decided to boycott the meeting, alleging it was a “deliberate attempt” to seek divergent views on the issue.
Strongly supporting the Telangana statehood demand, some of the Congress MPs like K Keshav Rao and G Sukhender Reddy have said they are ready to quit their posts for the sake of Telangana, if such a situation arose.
