Hyderabad: Power Minister G. Jagadish Reddy here on Wednesday predicted that only TRS party would remain on the political horizon of Telangana State by 2019 general elections.
Interacting with mediapersons at Assembly Lobbies here when the House was taking up a debate on 2016-16 Budget, the minister said the Congress will disappear by next elections as the TDP has already been routed during recent civic body elections and in general elections. “If the Congress will disappear in another three years or so, the party leaders have to make it to the ruling party. Two Congress leaders Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Rajgopal Reddy brothers were contemplating to join the ruling party, he said. Though the Congress leaders were ready, the TRS was not in a position to invite them immediately. Probably his voice was ambiguous hinting at inviting the Congress leaders into the ruling party. The Congress leaders have been trying to join the ruling party after the elections and State formation”, he said.
Jagadish Reddy also reminded that he and other senior leaders of the party had objected to an idea of the TRS forging an alliance with the BJP during the last elections. The minister felt that the ruling party was not in a position to accommodate them. He said the Congress and TDP leaders were joining the ruling party as they strongly believe in the development of the State by the TRS government. (NSS)
