Congress, TD Govts encouraged corporate colleges for money: TRS

TRS leadership today alleged that the previous Congress and Telugu Desam Governments collapsed the Education system in the Telangana State.

Addressing the media at TRS Legislature Party office here on Friday, MLC Karne Prabhakar alleged that the previous governments had deliberately neglected education in the State and minted money by giving indiscriminate permissions to many corporate colleges. He demanded that the Congress leaders disclose how much money they took to give permissions in utter violation of norms to the corporate and private colleges.

Alleging that previous governments made hay by hobnobbing with the private and corporate colleges, the TRS Government did not commit such mistakes during the past three-and-a-half years, Prabhakar claimed. The Congress leaders can also get the details and check whether the TRS government gave permissions to such corporate colleges in violation of the norms, he said.

Karne Prabhakar also alleged that the Opposition leaders were trying to blame the TRS government for its efforts to strengthen the Education system with all facilities. The previous governments deliberately destroyed the education system and the present regime was setting it right, Prabhakar said. He also expressed doubts over the Opposition leaders for supporting the corporate colleges with regard to fees reimbursement. The Government will reimburse pending fees, he said. He sought to know why the Opposition leaders were coming in the way of development process and steps to strengthen the education system. (NSS)
