The Minorities Department of Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee on Wednesday launched another innovative campaign to create pressure on TRS Government to fulfill the promise of 12% Muslim Reservation.
It printed calendars of holy month of Ramzan with a request to the people to support the agitation for 12% Muslim quota. The Ramzan calendars, in different sizes, contain the timings of Saher and Iftar to observe Roza during the holy month of Ramzan. At the bottom, an appeal has been made to the community to pray and support the campaign for 12% Muslim reservation. “Our earlier campaign ‘One Million Yes for 12% Muslim Reservation’ was a huge success. Therefore, in order to maintain the same momentum and pitch of our campaign we came up with this innovative idea. These calendars will remind the entire community, both at Saher and Iftar times, of promise of 12% Muslim Reservation made by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao during elections,” said GHCC Minorities Department chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail.
These calendars were released by TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and TPCC Minorities Dept chairman Mohammed Fakhruddin in the presence of other minority leaders at a review meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday.
Abdullah Sohail said pocket-size calendars were printed in large numbers so that every member of the community would carry the demand for 12% Muslim reservation throughout the month of holy Ramzan. He said that the calendars would be circulated widely on social media networks. He said since no movement could be conducted during Ramzan as all Muslims spend their time in fasting and prayers, the Congress party came up with the unique idea to strengthen the 12% Muslim reservation campaign.
He appealed to the Muslim community to pray for the victory in ongoing 4% Muslim reservation case in the Supreme Court and also for 12% Muslim quota, promised by the TRS Government. (INN)
