Congress to take up youth agenda in election manifesto: Channi

Chandigarh: Senior Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi today said the party would include the agenda for youth in its manifesto for the 2017 Punjab Assembly polls and implement it after forming government in the state.

“The youth will have a significant place in the election manifesto of the Punjab Pradesh Congress in the next Vidhan Sabha election,” the Punjab Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader said.

“The party will take up youth agenda in its manifesto and then implement it when the government is formed. Youths are the driving force now a days and Congress will address their core issues,” he said.

Unemployment, drugs, technical education, scholarships, hi-tech gadget operations, sports are the key areas which the party will be looking at for the youth of the state, the Congress MLA from Chamkaur Sahib said.

“The dreams shown by the Akali-BJP government to the youth, which remain unfulfilled, will be highlighted and these issues will be taken up in Vidhan Sabha Session also,” he said.
