Congress sinking ship; will disappear by 2014: ambati

Hyderabad, January 21:Jagan supporter and former Congress MLA, Mr Ambati Rambabu, has said that the Congress party was a sinking ship and would disappear from the political scene 2014.

Talking to mediapersons here on Thursday, Mr Rambabu said that even the party MPs, who were not accommodated in the Wednesday’s Union Cabinet expansion were saying what he was saying. He said that if the Congress party came to power, it was due to the late chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s efforts. He said that he had never seen such a weak leadership for the Congress in the past. The party was in such a helpless condition that it was unable to take action against the party MPs who were stating that the party was a sinking ship.

Referring to non-inclusion of the State MPs in the Union cabinet, he said that the Congress leadership had once again hurt the self respect of the Telugu people.

Replying to a question on the statement of Congress MP, Mr Lagadapati Rajagopal, that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy would return to the Congress fold by 2 014 elections, Mr Ambati said that it would not happen. In fact, the Congress leaders themselves would join Jagan’s party, he predicted.

Dismissing the claim of the TDP chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, that Mr Jagan’s “Jana Diksha” was to compete with TDP’s programmes, Mr Ambati said that his party had no need to compete with any one. He said that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy was sincerely striving to fight for the problems of the people and the urge to serve the people was his only guiding force, he added.
