K. Taraka Ramarao, Sircilla MLA and son of TRS president K. Chandrasekhara Rao, has predicted that the Congress party would face rout in the country in the ensuing general elections.
Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan here on Wednesday, KTR said even the latest poll surveys concluded that AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi would bite the dust in the battle of the ballot in the country. Describing Congress party as a “sinking ship” and people of the country know what would happen if they vote for that party, KTR said many students in the Telangana region committed suicides due to delaying tactics of Sonia Gandhi in conceding separate State for Telangana region.
Alleging that Sonia Gandhi, after much dilly-dallying, agreed to bifurcate the State to carve out Telangana region, the TRS leader demanded that the Congress president tender an apology to the people of Telangana for the death of so many youths in Telangana. KTR said votes cast in favour of Congress party would be useless as that party cannot even get 70 Lok Sabha seats all over the country.
Apparently responding to TPCC president’s outbursts against KCR, the TRS leader said, “Ponnala is a Telangana traitor. People know well who slept in America when the agitation for Telangana was in full swing”. The Sircilla MLA also asked the TPCC president whether he was ready to participate in an open debate on “Who led the Telangana movement. Let’s have the open debate on this in Ponnala’s native village Quilla Shapur.
Advising the TPCC chief not to let loose his tongue, KTR said they would also vote for the Congress party if Ponnala made the Congress president give answers to their questions like national project status to Chevella-Pranahitha project along with Polavaram; make Sonia Gandhi to agree to change the design of Polavaram project and retain submersible mandals under the project in Telangana State. Besides, Sonia Gandhi should also declare there are no options for Seemandhra employees, lest there will be no jobs to Telangana youth.
KTR also alleged that the Union government failed to give special status to Telangana which lost heavily due to exploitation by Seemandhra rulers in the past 60 years. He also reminded that it was KCR who relentlessly fought for Telangana State and wrested it from the Congress supremo. He also demanded that Sonia Gandhi and Ponnala Lakshmaiah tender unconditional apology to the people of Telangana over suicides by students. (NSS)
