Once BJP used to raise the issue of Muslim appeasement every day and now makes a U turn and says Congress is responsible for Muslim backwardness as they have ruled over the country since independence.
Former BJP president Rajnath Singh on Tuesday alleged that policies adopted by the Congress were responsible for backwardness of Muslims after Independence.
“After Independence Congress and its policies are responsible for backwardness and poverty among Muslims,” he said at an election meeting in Etah on the last day of campaign for the fifth phase.
On announcements of Muslim reservation by Congress and SP, he said BJP considers all, whether Hindu, Muslim or Christian, “as brothers.”
Differentiation should not be done on the basis of religion and caste, he said.
Singh said if BJP came to power, a commission would be set up to probe the alleged irregularities during regimes of SP and BSP which, he said, were supporting Congress at the Centre fearing CBI inquiry against them
