Rejecting reports of its widening rift with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), the Congress has said ”it is a responsible and respectable ally.
Maintaining the status quo on his previous remark on the
NCP developments, All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi yesterday said, ”Such situation comes in the coalition politics.
It will be resolved through dialogues,he added.
On maintaining the ‘coalition dharma’ he said, everything
is alright,” adding, ”let us hope for the best.
However, sources said some problems in Maharashtra might be the reason of reported widening rift between the two constituents of the UPA which resulted in the NCP not participating in the Central Government functions like UPA’s dinner.
Addressing a press conference here after NCP’s meeting, its senior leader Praful Patel said the decision on NCP’s continuation in the Congress-led UPA government could not be taken today since most of the party leaders from Maharashtra could not come to Delhi to attend the meet.
He added that they will meet again tomorrow and take a decision in this regard.
He, however, asserted that NCP’s relationship with the ruling UPA-II government will remain intact till 2014 General Elections.
