Congress reaction on Alair encounter is ridiculous: MBT

Accusing the Congress party of trying to take political advantage of Alair encounter, the Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT) has advised Congress leaders to first introspect and apologise with Muslim community for its previous actions before commenting on fake encounters.

In a media statement, MBT leader Amjed Ullah Khan (Ex Corporator) said the culture of fake encounter of Muslim youths and their implication in false cases was started by the previous Congress regimes. “Three youth from Nalgonda – Fasiuddin, Rafiuddin and Mehmood Ali were killed in a fake encounter during the Congress rule in 1993. Prior to this, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the then Congress Government had unleashed terror by arresting hundreds of innocent Muslim youths on the suspicion of their involvement in some bomb blasts happened in Hyderabad. They ruined the lives of hundreds of innocent Muslim youth of Hyderabad since the demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992,” he said adding that several Muslim youth were booked under TADA (Terrorist And Disruptive Activities Act) when they offered prayers on road.

Amjed Ullah Khan said that the TDP Government, during its rule from 1994-2004, continued the Congress culture of fake encounters and kept terrorizing the Muslim youth by implicating them in false cases on terror charges. The Congress further strengthened this culture and in fact, inculcated anti-Muslim feelings among the police force during its rule from 2004-2014. “Five Muslim youth were shot dead when they protested against the bomb blast at Mecca Masjid in 2007. Later, several youth were falsely implicated in bomb blast case although the blasts were done by right-wing Hindu extremists. Not a single constable was ever punished during the Congress regime for fake encounters or implicating the Muslim youth in Mecca Masjid blast case,” he said.

The MBT leader alleged that the Congress Government never stopped Gujarat Police from taking away innocent Muslim youth from Hyderabad in several cases which were later proved to be fake. “Gujarat police officer Vanzara, who was later arrested in the fake encounter case of Sohrabuddin, killed Mujahed Salim Islahi, the son of noted cleric Moulana Abdul Aleem Islahi at the State DGP office. But the then Congress Government remained mute and took no action against him. The case is still pending in the Saifabad Police Station. Mohammed Ali Shabbir was then a minister in YSR Cabinet and Madhu Yashki Goud was a MP from Nizamabad. If they were seriously concerned about Muslims, then they should have raised their voice in 2007 itself,” he said.

Amjed Ullah said that the TRS Government too was following the footsteps of its predecessors and indulging in fake encounters. He said that the Congress leaders have no moral right to speak on issues like fake encounters of Muslim youth. “They are just trying to take advantage of Alair’s fake advantage to project themselves as saints. They must first apologies for the anti-Muslim crimes which they had committed and then comment on others,” he demanded. (INN)
