New Delhi : Expressing approval at the formation of a joint investigation team by Pakistan in the Pathankot terror attack, the Congress on Monday put the onus on the Indian Government to take the next step.
“If this is true then it is the first step but it is not the last step because we have been through this before. At the time of 26/11 also a special court had been set up but eight years later, we are more or less where we were,” Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar told ANI here.
“So in these circumstances, I would like a confirmation to see whether there is more information. What is more important is the reaction of the Indian government, as there seems to be some confusion there as well,” he added.
According to Express Tribune, sources in the Prime Minister’s Office said that Nawaz Sharif has asked Intelligence Bureau (IB) chief Aftab Sultan to form a joint investigation team, comprising Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI), to probe the Pathankot incident.
The move came after India shared with Islamabad some evidence of the Pathankot attackers’ purported links to Pakistan. (ANI)
