Congress policy on AP bifurcation benefited Telangana: TDP

TDP senior leader and member of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Gali Muddu Krishnamma Naidu said that policy adopted at the time of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh by the Congress party benefitted Telangana State.

Speaking to media persons on Tuesday, Naidu said that the then Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre implemented a policy which benefited Telangana while causing huge loss to Andhra Pradesh. He said entire revenue of Hyderabad was given to Telangana State while AP got nothing.

Naidu claimed that Hyderabad was developed during the regimes of late N.T. Rama Rao and Chandrababu Naidu. But post-bifurcation, AP did not get anything out of Hyderabad due to Congress party. He said that Chandrababu Naidu had faced lot of challenges in putting the divided Andhra Pradesh back on the track of development.

The TDP leader said that AP’s GDP was 11% last year and efforts are on to take it to 14% this year. He said steps were also being taken to develop Amaravati better than Hyderabad. He said that the TDP Government proposes to develop 976 km coastline on international standards and transform the same into an industrial hub. (INN)
