Congress policies designed to create a level-playing field: Rahul Gandhi

Shamshabad: Addressing the management and teachers of government recognized private educational institutions in Shamshabad in Telangana, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said, that his party believes in creating a level playing field for different groups of people, where everyone is treated fairly.

“The Congress party believes in fairness and all our policies are designed to create a level playing field for different groups of people,” Rahul Gandhi stated.

Recognizing the issue of fee reimbursement in educational institutions, the Congress president, said, “Telangana government is not reimbursing your fee on time and it is doing so to damage your institution. So my commitment to you from this stage is that we will ensure that universal fee reimbursement takes place on a timely basis and what is your due is given to you.”

“Rather than educational institutions, the Government of India is favoring larger corporate institutions and they are harming the institutions that have been set up by thousands of entrepreneurs like you,” the Congress president added.

Rahul further launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on corruption, and stated that “If Prime Minister can provide loan waivers to 15 richest people in the country then you owe it to the farmers as well.”
Making lucrative promises to the management of educational institutions in Telangana, he said, “In a manifesto, we have made it very clear that we are going to give health insurances to the staff of government recognized private educational institutions and we will also try to reduce electricity tariff and municipal and property tax.”

“We have also try and revive thousands of minority institutions that have failed as a result of the policies of the TRS govt,” he added.

Congress president concluded his speech by attacking Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, for rising corruption in the state and for not supporting the people who have actually built Telangana.

Telangana will go to polls to elect the 119 members of legislative assembly on December 7, with the results to be declared on December 11.
