Congress senior leader and former MLA T. Jayaprakash Reddy (Jagga Reddy) has accused the TRS Government of taking political vengeance against opposition leaders after the successful conduct of Telangana Praja Garjana meeting addressed by Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi at Sangareddy on June 1.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, Jagga Reddy alleged that Ameenpur Sarpanch Srinivas Goud was suspended by the State Government on baseless charges to avenge Goud’s participation in Rahul Gandhi’s meeting. He said Srinivas Goud has accorded warm reception to Rahul Gandhi at Serilingampally on June 1. He alleged that Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao himself directed the District Collector to suspend the sarpanch by leveling some baseless allegations against him.
Jagga Reddy said that the Congress party would not tolerate selective attack on its leaders by the TRS Government. He said a massive dharna would be held at Sangareddy Collectorate on Tuesday against the suspension of Ameenpur Sarpanch. TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, MLA Dr. J. Geetha Reddy and other senior leaders will participate in the dharna.
Speaking to media persons, Srinivas Goud alleged that he was not the lone victim. All the local bodies representatives of Congress party were being harassed by the TRS Government after Rahul Gandhi’s visit. (INN)
