Congress plans 72-hour dharna at Mallana Sagar

Congress senior leader V. Hanumantha Rao on Wednesday informed that the Congress party would organise a 72-hour Deeksha at Mallanna Sagar from June 27.

Speaking to media persons here, VHR accused the TRS Government of forced land acquisition for Mallanna Sagar project. He said that the Congress party was not against the project. However, he said that the displaced farmers should be paid adequate compensation as per the Land Acquisition Act and not through GO 123. He also alleged that the TRS Government was re-designing the irrigation projects only to escalate their costs.

VHR also alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and other TRS leaders were earning huge commissions from the contractors and using the same money to buy legislators of opposition parties. (INN)
