Congress, opposition parties trade charges

Hyderabad, February 27: The stalemate in the Assembly which could not transact any business for the eighth day in succession triggered off a blame game between the ruling Congress and the opposition parties.

While the Treasury Benches criticised the opposition for not facilitating the conduct of the business, the latter accused the Congress of its failure to take the responsibility in enabling hassle-free conduct of the proceedings.

The TRS accused the TDP of entering into an understanding with the Congress in stalling the proceedings. TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu was trying his best to protect the interests of the Kiran Kumar Reddy government by refusing to move a no confidence motion, said TRS MLAs E. Rajender and K.T. Rama Rao.

Countering the charge, TDP MLA P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju accused the Congress of displaying ‘collective irresponsibility’ in not allowing proceedings.
