(Siasat News) Congress M.P. from Vijayawada, Mr. L. Rajagopal wrote a letter to Congress spokesman, Mr. P. Chacko saying that Congress never promised to form separate Telangana state. He said that in the election manifesto of 2004 and 2009, Congress didn’t promise to form separate Telangana state. In 2001, in the meeting of Congress working committee, a resolution was passed for the constitution of a States’ Reorganization Commission. In Sri Krishna Committee also, a recommendation has been made for keeping A.P. State united. Media has published the statement of Mr. Chako in such a way that it gave an impression that Congress party is not against the formation of Telangana state and that it is awaiting the appropriate time. By such news item, the sentiments of the people of Seema Andhra have been hurt.
He pointed out that Sri Krishna Committee was constituted with the consensus of all the political parties. It submitted six recommendations. He termed the sixth recommendation as the best one and recommended to keep A.P. state integrated. He told that there is no scope for the formation of a separate Telangana state. Only a few people are demanding for the formation of Telangana state, whereas the majority of the population is in favour of keeping of A.P. State integrated.
