Congress by nature is dynastic and undemocratic: Modi

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi said Friday that the Congress Party doesn’t believe in the idea of democracy, and therefore, it thrives on dynasty.

Hitting out at Sonia and Rahul Gandhi at a rally at Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari region, Modi thundered, “Should not Madame Sonia Gandhi and Shahzada (Rahul Gandhi) not respond to the people? They themselves cannot answer on the report card about the work done during the past decade, while they are on a nationwide tour to seek what work I have done? They never take accountability of every penny that they spend. The character of the Congress Party is such that they do not believe in democracy and respect it, as it thrives on dynastic politics. Hence, they consider that they need not have to be accountable to the people. They never think it right to give any answer to the people. The ego of the people is at its rooftop.”

Modi was at his vitriolic best as he pinched Rahul Gandhi in his satirically tone, calling him Shahzada (Crown Prince) umpteen number of times.

“You are facing problems because of price rise, does Shahzada feel any pinch of your problem. They only feel happy about your troubles as Shehzada had once said in his speech that unless we speak about the poor, we do not feel the fun, now you tell me is it right for them to have fun in speaking about the poor? On the other hand, when I hear from the poor, I have sleepless nights and I think of wiping the tears of the poor, this is the only difference. He speaks that being poor is a state of mind, hence, there is nothing called being poor, it is like a tourism for you only to seek a photo opportunity. When you go to visit a house of the poor, you take the entire media with you. He has been born with a golden spoon, how will he understand what is the problem of the poor. I have been born as a poor, and hence, I know the plight of the poor. Hence, only a person who has experienced what is being poor, will only understand the problems of the poor,” Modi said.

The BJP prime ministerial candidate predicted that Congress will find it very difficult to even reach a three digit figure in its final tally. He also praised former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee for his skills in creating new states with ease, while highlighting the Congress Party’s failure in managing the creation of just one state of Telangana.

“We are grateful to Atal Behari Vajpayee that he created Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand, while its mother states of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh were distributing sweets. Congress created just one state of Telangana, but it could not bring a smile to either Seemandhra or Telangana. The Congress is a party which believes in division, and such parties can never do good for the country. I have seen this election very closely, and the Congress will find it difficult to even touch double figures, let alone its final total touching three-figure tally throughout the nation. My sources have told me that approximately 100 seats which went to polls yesterday will see that Congress finding it difficult to even win a seat. This tornado will soon turn into a tsunami,” Modi added.

He also attacked the Congress on farmers suicide and regretted the fact that the fund created following Nirbhaya’s death wasn’t even utilized.

“We will not ensure that minimum support price not based on whims and fancies, we will ensure that farmers do not die and commit suicides. We want our daughters and mothers get equal opportunity in the development process. Not a single day passes that our women are not raped in Delhi. It has become a rape capital. The unfortunate Nirbhaya incident happened under Congress’ nose. It is unfortunate that Sonia Gandhi who had so famously declared of the Nirbhaya Fund consisting of 1000 crores has not spent a single penny since it was created. Hence, you must say goodbye to a government which does paper work. I have strong belief that this country wants a strong government and the people are tired of a government which is remote-controlled. Hence, you must elect all our candidates so that the problems faced by Chhattisgarh can be resolved,” Modi added.

Earlier in another rally in Odisha’s Balasore Modi tore apart the Congress, saying the people are yearning for change.

He also launched a scathing attack on the Naveen Patnaik-led Biju-Janata-Dal (BJD) government and asked the people What has your CM given you? Has he ever come to meet you? What is the need to have such people?

Modi promised the people that if he comes to power, he will ensure that Odisha is catapulted like what Gujarat had seen.

BJP’s prime ministerial candidate charged the centre of doing ‘black magic’ because of which coal and employment have vanished. He requested the people to give him a mandate for 60 months so that he could transform their lives which was not being fulfilled by the others like the BJD which ruled for 15 years, Sonia Gandhi who stayed in power for 10 years and the Congress party which had been in power for 60 years.
