‘Congress MPs disturbing LS proceedings unfortunate’ : BJP

New Delhi, July 13: The BJP today regretted the ruling Congress party MPs obstructing the proceedings in Lok Sabha over the liquor deaths in Gujarat and said that the Congress was setting a bad precedent by disturbing the transactions in Parliament.

Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu talking to newspersons here said the Congress MPs had every right to raise the issue in Parliament but if they disturb proceedings being MPs of ruling party, they would be setting wrong precedent. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Leader of the House Pranab Mukherjee should give their views on the Congress MPs disturbing the proceedings in the lower house and create a situation leading to its adjournment. To a question if the BJP would advise the Gujarat Government, Mr Naidu said the Government in the state was capable of taking appropriate decision on its own. The Government has set up an judicial inquiry.” Let it come out with its report first and the party could give its views after studying the probe report.”
