Besides opposition parties, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy came under heavy criticism by his own partymen for the hike in power tariff proposed by the Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Addressing separate press conferences, Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao, Peddapalli MP G Vivek and other leaders blamed the Chief Minister for the proposed hike. Hanumantha Rao alleged that the Chief Minister was taking unilateral decisions even in the matters like increasing the power tariff. He warned that such decisions would damage the Congress party in near future.
Demanding that the Chief Minister reject the ERC’s proposal, Vivek said that ongoing energy crisis and the proposed hike in power tariff was due to lack of foresight by the Chief Minister.
