Congress MLC seeks CBI probe in Nayeem case

Congress MLC Rajagopal Reddy demanded that the state government to hand over the slain gangster Nayeem’s case to the CBI.

Speaking to media persons at Yadagirigutta, the Congress leader said that in the wake of revelations that political leaders and officials had links with the slain gangster, the state government should hand over the case to the CBI to bring out the truth and bring all the guilty to book. He alleged that there were allegations of ruling party leaders having links with Nayeem and that the state government was trying to protect him. He also alleged that Nayeem had threatened Bhuvanagiri councilors during the MLC elections and had played a key role in making defections of the people’s representatives from other parties to the ruling party.

The Congress leader said that the SIT seized Nayeem’s diary which made shocking revelations about the activities of the slain gangster and his links with politicos. He demanded the Chief Minister to make public the details of the Nayeem’s diary and bring out the truth before the public.

Nayeem was indulging in wrong doings for the past 20 years and his operations were not just based in AP and TS but were spread to other states as well. If the truth has to come out, then an impartial probe should be done and this was possible by a central probing agency, the CBI, Reddy asserted. (INN)
