Congress MLC MS Prabhakar on Monday criticised the proposed power cuts in the Telangana State for domestic and industrial sectors.
Speaking to media persons in Legislative Council premises here, Prabhakar condemned the statement of Energy Minister C Laxma Reddy issued on Sunday indicating power cuts in view of Rabi season. He said instead of making alternate arrangements, the State Government has decided to cause inconvenience to the people by imposing power cuts. He said that the industry has already suffered a lot due to last spell of power cuts in the State. Further power cuts will lead to closure of several industries and loss of employment, he said.
Prabhakar said that the TRS Government lacked clarity on handling power crisis. It failed to provide sufficient and quality power to farmers during Khariff season and might do the same in Rabi season, he apprehended. Further, he said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao made mere announcements of resolving the power crisis and even signed some MoUs with the Chhattisgarh for supply of 1,000 MW. However, nothing has been materialised so far and the people are bound to face problems due to power cuts. (INN)
