Congress MLA’s joining YSRC with selfish motives: Botcha

APCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana has said that party MLAs were deserting the Congress with selfish motives like YSRCP Chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. Like Jagan, who amassed thousands of crores of rupees within a short time illegally, some Congress MLAs wanted to grow speedily in politics and hence they were switching their loyalties to YSRCP, he added.

Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday, Botcha said that the MLAs, who were leaving the Congress would
realize their folly later. The MLAs, who were deserting the Congress, found a nearest route to fulfill their selfish motives and were joining the YSRCP.

Responding on Bobbili MLA Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao’s resignation, Botcha said that whether he (Botcha) had influence in the district or not would be known only after some time. He said that it was not correct to jump to a conclusion with one MLA from Vijayanagaram district leaving the party. He also alleged that Ranga Rao has left the party with selfish motives.

Finding fault with YSRCP honorary president Y S Vijayamma for demanding bail to Vijayasai Reddy and Sunil Reddy, Botcha questioned Vijayamma whether it was correct to seek bail only for the two while several others, including Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao was in the jail due to Jagan’s economic offences.

Botcha said that it was not correct to Vijayamma to say that she would strive for the victory of 17 MLAs, who tendered their resignations for the sake of Jagan. Botcha questioned Vijayamma whether the 17 MLAs had tendered their resignations in support of Jagan’s corruption and looting spree.

He reminded Vijayamma that those who tendered their resignations had said that they did so for the sake of farmers’ welfare. “But now, Vijayamma is saying differently. That shows Vijayamma’s double standards”, he added. He also questioned Vijayamma whether she doesn’t want welfare of farmers’.

Finding fault with Vijayamma for stating now that there was a conspiracy behind the death of her husband and former chief minister Dr YSR, Botcha said that it was unethical on part of Vijayamma to politicise Dr YSR death and requested her not to talk like that.

He reminded that Vijayamma had said at Dr YSR’s Ghat at Idupulapaya that her husband had not listened her advice not to go to Chittoor for launching Rachchabanda as the whether was not good. But the same Vijayamma was now showing different reasons for her husband’s death.

“Is it justifiable for her to speak in that manner”, he questioned. Several politicians including Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister and former Lok Sabha Speaker and others had died in plane accidents, he recalled. He said that he never expected that Vijayamma could talk like this.

He said that Vijayamma cared him whenever he went to Dr YSR’s residence. But it was not correct to her to change her attitude for the sake of her son.

He said that politicians have to move forward with the facts. The leaders have to fight politically but not in that manner, he said.

He said that Jagan had moved forward to create violence by proposing to burn 100 buses and saying that he would be arrested within four days and other issues.
