Congress MLA from Chintalapudi Maddala Rajesh met YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the Chanchalguda jail on Tuesday.
It is learnt that Ramesh had discussed about his joining the YSR Congress with Jagan.
Sources say that as per the suggestion of Jagan, Rajesh might join the YSRCP in the presence of YS Vijayamma later in the day.
It may be recalled that PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana had announced expulsion of nine Congress MLAs from the party. Rajesh is one of the MLAs. He has already announced his decision to join the YSRCP. He has also resigned from the Assembly and submitted his resignation letter in the office of Speaker Nadendla Manohar as he was not available at the time.
He also met Vijayamma several times in the recent past. He has earlier declared that he became an MLA because of late chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and would work as a loyal worker of the party launched by his son. Stating that it was during the period of YSR that his constituency developed, Rajesh said he would be loyal to YSR’s family. (NSS)
