Congress MLA Malikayya Venkayya Guttedar expelled for 6 years

Bengaluru (Karnataka): Ahead of the Karnataka assembly polls, the Congress on Thursday expelled its MLA Malikayya Venkayya Guttedar from the party for six years.

According to Karnataka Congress president G. Parameshwara, Guttedar, a six-time MLA from Afzalpur and a former minister, has been expelled for his “anti-party” activities.

Earlier in the day Guttedar met state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief B S Yeddyurappa and is most likely to join the party in Mysuru on March 30 or March 31, during party president Amit Shah’s visit.

This reportedly comes after he was not considered for ministership in the recent cabinet reshuffle in the State government. (ANI)
