Congress MLA to lodge complaint against CEO

Hyderabad, May 12: Kamalapuram MLA Veerashiva Reddy has decided lodge a complaint with the Election Commission against chief electoral officer (CEO) Bhanwar Lal for failing to conduct a free and fair poll in Kadapa district.

He alleged that the CEO had failed to act on specific complaints about YSR Congress party’s malpractices in the just concluded byelections. Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, the MLA said the CEO had permitted several YSR Congress party leaders, who were outsiders, to stay in the district on the poling day which was against the rules.

He said he had given a written complaint to the EC on May 2 that YSR Congress party leaders had stacked nearly `11 crore at a private farm in Kadapa for public distribution but the CEO failed to take action till May 7.

The MLA lodged another complaint with deputy speaker N Manohar against Kadapa district SP who has restricted his movements in the byelections
