Congress MLA hits back at JC

Hyderabad, March 28: There was no respite from the on going war of words among the Congress leaders from Anantapur district despite an appeal made by APCC president D. Srinivas to end the mutual acrimony.

On Sunday, it was the turn of Congress MLA from Dharmavaram K. Venkatarami Reddy to hit back at former Minister J. C. Diwakar Reddy. Barely a day after the former Minister launched a scathing attack on Revenue Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy daring him to resign and contest from Kalyandurg constituency, Mr. Venkatarami Reddy accepted the challenge.

“Congress MLAs from Anantapur are ready to contest against Mr. Diwakar Reddy. But, it is for him to decide from which party he intends to contest against us,” he told reporters on Sunday.

Accusing Mr. Diwakar Reddy of not only sabotaging the chances of Congress Council candidate P. Venugopal Reddy but leading the dissidence activity in the district, Mr. Venkatarami Reddy said the former should publicly admit his mistakes and seek apology.

The first-time MLA said Mr. Diwakar Reddy’s actions are against the interests of Congress party.
