Gottipati Ravi, Congress MLA of Addanki in Prakasham district has on Monday met the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the Chanchalguda jail.
Speaking to the media after the meeting during the Mulakhat time, he said he would soon join the YSR Congress and added that Jagan had assured him Addanki ticket in the next elections. He has alleged that the ruling party was organizing raids on his quarry as he was joining the YSR Congress.
Ravi said Jagan should become the Chief Minister if the welfare schemes of the late Chief Minister Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy were to be implemented with commitment. He also said Jagan was jailed as a result of a conspiracy. He said baseless corruption charges were framed against him to suppress him politically.
It may be mentioned here that roumers about Gottipati going into the YSR Congress have been doing the rounds since quite some time. He has brought curtains down on the speculations by announcing it himself. It is learnt that Ravi discussed with Jagan when to join the party. It is likely that he might join the party in the presence of the party’s honorary president Vijayamma soon.(NSS)
