Congress men resent ticket to Lalu’s daughter’s future father-in-law

New Delhi, January 24: Strong resentment prevails among a section of Youth Congress workers after their leader and party nominee from Uttar Pradesh’s Sikandarabad seat was replaced by Jitendra Yadav, whose son is soon going to marry RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s daughter.

The AICC has given ticket to Yadav by replacing former YC President from Bulandshahar Nizam Malik from Sikandarabad seat triggering a near rebellion in a section of the Youth Congress workers in the state.

A group of Youth Congress workers have been protesting outside the AICC headquarters here for the last few days against the replacement.

Incidentally, Yadav’s son Rahul is marrying the fourth daughter of the RJD chief soon.

Although party spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi downplayed the issue saying such things happen during election time, the continued protests led to virtual barricading of the AICC entrance as dozens of youth shouted slogans against the party’s decision.

Opposing the move, the YC workers waved placards and shouted slogans like “Youth ka yeh apmaan, nahin sahega Hindustan”, “Dal badloo netaon ka sammaan, party karyakarta ka apmaan (India won’t tolerate insult of the youth, honouring defectors means insulting party workers).”

Malik was declared party candidate from the seat more than a month back but found himself replaced in the latest list of the party by Yadav.
