A meeting of the Congress workers is being organized from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lalith Kala Thoranum, Public Gardern, Hyderabad. Proposals will be received from both the regions of Andhra Pradesh for the formation of Separate Telangana State. Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, Mr. Vaylaar Ravi and other Central leaders are expected to attend this meeting.
Mr. V.Hanumantha Rao, Secretary, AICC had demanded for organizing such a meeting. Mr. Chiranjeevi had also supported it. Congress has decided to convene this meeting in the wake of possible elections of the local bodies.
Mr. B.Satyanarayana, President of A.P. Congress Committee convened a meeting of Congress workers yesterday and reviewed the arrangements for the Congress Party meeting to be held on 23rd Sept. He nominated a committee of five members for making arrangements for the proposed meeting. Nearly five thousand Congress workers are being invited from all the three parts of the State. Opinion will be elicited from the Congress workers about separate Telangana and integrated Andhra Pradesh. The Congress Party will formulate strategy.
Planning to bridge the gap between the workers of former Praja Rajyam part and Congress Party will be prepared assigning posts to congress workers right from panchayath level to district level.
Proposals will be elicited from the leaders participating in the meeting about strengthening the party. All the defects in communicating the implementation of Govt. schemes to people will also be removed.
Chief Minister and State President of Congress will be present in the meeting and review the proposals.
Party workers from Mandal levels are being invited to participate in the meeting. Steps would be taken to resolve their problems.
Proposals to fill up the vacant posts of various corporations will also be received in the meeting.
