Congress leaders express different views on Rythu Bandhu Scheme

Hyderabad: TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has opined that the farmers won’t be benefited with the Rythu Bandhu scheme if the government failed to provide beneficial price to the produce of the farmers.

Making it clear that the Congress party will extend support to the State government, Bhatti said the TRS government was extending cash to the farmers under Rythu Bandhu scheme only keeping the elections in mind.

Participating in the Kisan Congress executive committee meeting here on Wednesday at Gandhi Bhavan held under the chairmanship of Kisan Keth Congress chairman M Kodanda Reddy, Bhatti said that the farmers will be benefited further if the government extended beneficial price to their produce.

Former AP Speaker KR Suresh Reddy said the State government has to extend adequate crop loans to the farmers and opined that the Rs 4,000 per acre was not adequate to the farmers. The farmers have to approach businessmen once again for the loans and resulting in as big burden to them, he bemoaned. He alleged that the banks were following wrong policies in deciding the crop loans to the farmers and it was leading to the farmers to approach the private businessmen for loans.

Kodanda Reddy said they were preparing full fledged presentation on comprehensive crop policy. TPCC general secretary Dasoju Sravan, former MLA K Laxma Reddy and representatives from various districts besides Kisan Congress leaders were present at the meeting. (NSS)
