Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee secretary and Krishna Delta Parirakshna Samithi convener Kolanukonda Sivaji would submit a representation to TDP president N Chandrbabu Naidu when he come here on August 14,urging his co-operation in getting water to the Krishna Delta. Informing this at a press conference here today, he said he along with other leaders would meet Chandrababu Naidu and appeal him to extend his support for the release of water to the Krishna delta from Nagarjuna Sagar, even if the water level is below 510 Ft. Mr Sivaji said that previously water was used to be released from Sagar dam to the Krishna Delta, even if the water level was below 510 Ft. The government stopped release of water to Krisha delta after the High Court order which asked the government to stop the release of water to Krishna delta,if the water level is below 510 ft. The senior Congress leader pointed out that though the TDP leaders of the region were demanding release of water, Chandrababu Naidu was not extending support to the demand and he did not exert pressure on the government release of water either. The APCC secretary appealed to the government to permit farmers of Krishna district to sell the sand, which was accumulated in their fields due to floods and cited that permission for the same was given to the farmers in neighboring Guntur district.
Mr Sivaji congratulated Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for his successful efforts in restoring the supply of gas to the thermal projects in the state by convincing the Prime Minister. UNI
