Congress leader Shabbir Ali’s elder brother passes away

Alhaj Mohammed Zainul Abideen, elder brother of Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir passed away on Friday. He was 67.

Mohammed Zainul Abideen, who was suffering from cancer since a long period, collapsed due to sudden fall in sugar levels on Friday. He was immediately rushed to Care Hospital at Banjara Hills where he was declared brought dead at about 6.50 AM. As per his will that his Namaz-e-Janaza and burial should take place in the immediate Namaz after his death, his body was taken to Kamareddy.

Several thousand people took part in the Namaz-e-Janaza which was performed at Masjid-e-Bilal. He was buried in the adjacent graveyard.

           

Mohammed Zainul Abideen was very active in social and religious activities. He was the president of Madarsa-e-Kashiful Uloom in Kamareddy where 18-20 Huffaz pass out every year. He was also the Mutawalli of Majsid-e-Bilal. He was born in the month of Moharram and therefore, named Zainul Abideen. Incidentally, he died in the month of Moharram.

            Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan spoke to Shabbir Ali over phone and conveyed his grief. Among others who expressed their condolences include TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, CLP leader K. Jana Reddy, Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao, Sisat Editor-in-Chief Zahed Ali Khan and News Editor Amer Ali Khan, Khaled and Faisal of Munsif Daily, Karntaka Minister Roshan Baig, Gulbarga MLA Qamar-ul-Islam, TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy.

            Several well-wishers and family friends from Nizamabad, Kamareddy and Hyderabad visited Shabbir Ali at his residence to pay their tributes to the departed soul. They included Congress MLC Akula Lalitha and other prominent religious, political and media personalities. (NSS)
