Former Minister and senior Congress party leader Mandali Buddha Prasad today called off his three-day hunger strike, at Avanigadda of Krishna district with the assurance of Chief Minsiarter N Kiran Kumar reddy over phone that water would be released to the Krishna delta. The Congress leader called off his fast taking lime juice offered by former Minister Gade Venkata Reddy. Mr Buddha Prasad observed the fast for three days demanding release of water to the Krishna delta, from the Prakasham barrage. As Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy assured him over phone that water would be released to the Krishna delta and Major Irrigation Minister Sudarshan Reddy would make a statement in this regard.Several Congress leaders,including government whip Perni Venkatramaiah Nani, MLAs Malladi Vishnu, Jogi Ramesh, All India Kishan Sabha vice- president Koli Nageswra Rao, rythu leaders Akkineni Bhavani Prasad and Samata party president VV Krishna Rao were also present when the Congress leader called off his fast.
