Hyderabad: The one day Telangana Bandh called for by the striking RTC unions and Joint Action Committee (JAC) did not lead to any serious incidents in the Telangana State barring the expected protests by striking workers and some of the political leaders of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee at Charminar and various bus depots were arrested by the police.
Some of the Congress and CPI leaders were arrested here on Saturday morning at Charminar by the Hyderabad City Police to maintain law and order.
However, bus services, cab services and other transport services were severely affected in the state.
While Congress leaders were marching from Charminar to Imiliban bus station in support of RTC workers strike and arrested by the police. Leaders arrested by the police were Congress Legislative Party (CPL) leader Bhatti Vikramarka, Sridhar Babu, V. Hanumantha Rao, Anjan Kumar Yadav, Anil Yadav, K Venkatesh and Balmuri Venkat at Charminar and taken to Kanchana Bagh police station.
