Congress holds PM Modi responsible for Gujarat violence

New Delhi Aug 26 : Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Wednesday held Prime Minister Narendra Modi responsible for the violence in Gujarat over an agitation demanding job reservation for the Patel community.

“CM of Gujarat Anandiben Patel is directly responsible for this but even more responsible than her is the Prime Minister because everyone knows the Prime Minister is running Gujarat like puppets,” Dikshit told ANI.

“It also shows very serious issues, twice in the last 15 years has there been public coming on roads; one was in 2002 and another was today. And in both cases, the then CM and today’s Prime Minister prove to be completely unsuccessful,” he added.

Prime Minister Modi today appealed to the people of Gujarat to remain calm and maintain peace following violence in the state over an agitation demanding job reservation for the Patel community.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today spoke to Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel regarding the law and order situation in the state and assured her Centre’s support.

Additional forces have been deployed in Gujarat to control the situation. (ANI)
