Congress to hold organisational polls in states

New Delhi, July 09: After successful completion of Organisational elections in Punjab and Punducherry, the Congress has decided to conduct such elections in other states before the assembly elections.

Sources said that the party wants to take some steps to strengthen its organisation in the states before the assembly elections.

The organisational polls will also be conducted in politically significant Uttar Pradesh where the party has done well in the recently held general elections. The Party, bagged 21 seats out of 80 seats in UP.

The assembly elections in UP will be held after around thirty months.

Congress General Secretary and in charge of National Students Union of India along with party’s youth organisations Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said that keeping in view election management, five zones have been made in UP.
